Voice Artist Spotlight: Josiah U

***SPOILER WARNING***: This episode includes spoilers for The Weight of Silence and light discussion of later-series material.

In this Voice Artist Spotlight, I’m sitting down with Josiah U, the voice of Logan Weston in the upcoming The Weight of Silence audiobook.

Josiah talks about finding voice acting through music and indie projects, the casting call that made him stop and pay attention, and why Logan felt personal to him as a young black actor. We talk about authentic casting, the emotional work of performing difficult material, Logan’s relationships with his family, giftedness, disability, and what it means to write and perform characters as whole people rather than symbols.

We also laugh. A lot. This is a warm, unpolished, deeply honest, occasionally chaotic conversation about storytelling, representation, the care that goes into bringing a character to life, and why the people making the work matter just as much as the work itself.
